On November 30th, 2018, the Wizard Devin Person walked into Magick City, a small DIY venue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, to perform THE OPENING CEREMONY of This Podcast is a Ritual, ushering in a new era of magic that moved beyond the 42 souls gathered in the room that night to inspire listeners across the globe to create a “slightly better” reality…
Now, on November 30th, 2025, the Wizard Devin Person invites you to join him at MaybeItsFate, a cooperative art gallery and social club in Louisville, Kentucky, to witness THE INVOCATION, a powerful piece of magic for a world coming apart, an audacious message of hope to cut through the darkness of despair and light the way forward…

THE INVOCATION is a social experience, a ritual performance, and a live podcast taping.
From our ancient past to a barely imaginable future, THE INVOCATION weaves the vast expanse of time into a single moment, the daunting dimensions of the cosmos into a shared space, and transforms the anxiety of this age into a powerful magic of joy and resistance.
As with the original OPENING CEREMONY, this ritual will be witnessed by precisely 42 people. If you are meant to be there, you will be. Trust the magic to know what is right for you.
Please Know: THE INVOCATION requires a precise number of attendees for magical purposes. If you purchase a ticket and later realize you won’t be able to attend, we ask that you find someone to attend in your place (or contact the Wizard at personisawake@gmail.com ASAP so he can locate a replacement).

FAQ
Can I arrive late or leave early?
As this is a unique ritual experience, we’re asking all guests to arrive promptly between 5:00-5:30pm so we can close the container and avoid interruptions. The event will conclude by 8pm and we suggest leaving space for your own integration and reflection afterwards, rather than rushing to another commitment.
Am I going to have to do anything weird?
No. Come with a relaxed and open attitude, but the Wizard will be doing all the heavy ritual lifting and you won’t be asked to do anything more “out there” than converse with your fellow attendees.
Is this suitable for children?
While there is nothing objectionable per se, the issue is more one of focus and attention. If you have a mature high school age child interested in attending, trust your own judgment or reach out to the Wizard (at personisawake@gmail.com) with more specific questions.
Will there be alcohol at the event?
No. We will be providing a variety of non-alc beverages, some with their own unique enhancing properties, but this is an alcohol-free event. We also suggest abstaining from your own enhancing substances so you can experience the full magic of the ritual itself.
Will I be recorded?
THE INVOCATION ceremony is being recorded for audio and video. Guests are not the focus of the recording but there is a chance you will be in the background.
